Overview
Two countries, two weeks, and some of the most extraordinary places on earth. This grand tour combines Egypt's pharaonic treasures, a 5-star Nile cruise and a night under the stars in the White Desert with the rose-red city of Petra and the healing waters of the Dead Sea, guided by expert English-speaking local guides in each country. Your journey begins in Cairo with a guided tour of the Giza Plateau, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to the treasures of King Tutankhamun, followed by an authentic Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant. The next day you explore the Saqqara necropolis and the Step Pyramid of Djoser. A flight takes you to Aswan for Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk and the High Dam before you sail north on your 5-star full-board Nile cruise. Along the river you visit Kom Ombo Temple and the Mummified Crocodile Museum, ride a horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, and explore Karnak and Luxor temples. In Luxor you visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon before flying back to Cairo. Then comes the Western Desert. From Bahariya Oasis, 4x4 jeeps carry you past desert hot springs, the volcanic Black Desert, Crystal Mountain and Agabat Valley to the White Desert National Park, where you watch the sunset, enjoy a barbecue dinner with Bedouin music and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars. In Jordan, you see the 6th-century Mosaic Map in Madaba and visit Mt. Nebo, then spend a full day exploring Petra's Treasury, rock-cut tombs, theatres and colonnaded streets. The Roman city of Jerash and downtown Amman with its Citadel follow, and your journey ends with a day of floating and mud treatments at the Dead Sea.

Important information
Entrance fees to archaeological sites, international flights and travel insurance are not included. Check the visa requirements for both Egypt and Jordan for your nationality before you travel. The White Desert night is spent in a desert camp, and nights in the desert can be cool, so bring a warm layer. Petra involves a lot of walking on uneven ground, so comfortable walking shoes are essential. A hat and sun protection are recommended throughout. Gratuities for guides, drivers and cruise staff are not included and are customary in both countries.

Is the Nile cruise included?
Yes. The tour includes a 5-star full-board Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, with visits to Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak and Luxor temples.
Are flights within the tour included?
Yes. The flights from Cairo to Aswan, from Luxor back to Cairo, and from Cairo to Amman are all included. International flights to Egypt at the start and home from Jordan at the end are not included.
Are entrance fees to the sites included?
No. Entrance fees to archaeological sites are not included in the tour price.
Are Abu Simbel and the Luxor hot-air balloon ride included?
Both are available as optional experiences for an additional fee. The Abu Simbel excursion can be added during the cruise, and the sunrise hot-air balloon flight over Luxor's West Bank on the morning of day 7.
What is the White Desert night like?
You spend one night in a desert camp in the White Desert National Park. The evening includes sunset viewing, a barbecue dinner cooked under the stars, Bedouin music and stargazing.
What is not included in the price?
Entrance fees to archaeological sites, travel insurance, international flights, optional tours, personal expenses, drinks, laundry, and gratuities for guides, drivers and cruise staff.
Will I have a guide?
Yes. You are accompanied by an expert English-speaking local guide in each country.
Where does the tour start and end?
The tour starts in Cairo, where you are met at Cairo International Airport or your hotel, and ends in Amman with a transfer to Amman Airport.
