Fourteen days that show you the full breadth of Egypt, from the pyramids and the desert to the Mediterranean, the Nile and the Red Sea. This journey pairs a 5-star full-board Nile cruise and a 5-star all-inclusive beach stay in Hurghada with a night under the stars in the White Desert, all with a professional Egyptologist guide. In Cairo you explore the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, with lunch at a local restaurant handpicked by your guide. The following day takes you to Dahshur's Bent and Red Pyramids, where you can enter the inner chambers, then to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx at Memphis, and the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara. Next, you head into the Western Desert. From Bahariya Oasis, 4x4 jeeps take you to desert hot springs, the volcanic Black Desert, Crystal Mountain and Agabat Valley before you reach the White Desert National Park for sunset, a barbecue dinner with Bedouin music, and a night in a desert camp. Back in Cairo, a day trip to Alexandria reveals the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Citadel of Qaitbay. A flight to Aswan begins your Nile cruise, with Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk and the High Dam, then Kom Ombo's double temple of Sobek and Horus and the Mummified Crocodile Museum. A horse-drawn carriage takes you to Edfu's Temple of Horus before you reach Luxor for Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Your journey ends with a drive to Hurghada and time to relax at a 5-star all-inclusive resort on the Red Sea, before flying back to Cairo for your departure.
