Three countries, three great civilisations, one seamless journey. This fourteen-day cultural tour links Istanbul, Egypt and Jordan with the flights between them included, combining Ottoman mosques and palaces, the pyramids and a 5-star Nile cruise, and the rose-red city of Petra, with expert English-speaking local guides in each country. You begin in Istanbul with two full days of sightseeing. The first covers the Blue Mosque, the gardens of Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, the Suleymaniye Mosque, the Spice Bazaar, Eminonu Square and the Galata Bridge. The second crosses to the Asian side for the Camlica Mosque, Uskudar and Beylerbeyi Palace, then takes you to the historic Eyup district and by cable car up to the Pierre Loti viewpoint. A flight takes you to Cairo, where you explore the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, with lunch at a local restaurant handpicked by your guide, followed by the Saqqara necropolis and the Step Pyramid of Djoser. You then fly to Aswan for Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk and the High Dam, and sail north on your 5-star full-board Nile cruise, visiting Kom Ombo Temple and the Mummified Crocodile Museum, the Temple of Horus at Edfu by horse-drawn carriage, and Karnak and Luxor temples. After the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, you fly back to Cairo. In Jordan, you see the Mosaic Map at St. George's Church in Madaba and visit Mt. Nebo, spend a full day exploring Petra's Treasury, rock-cut tombs, theatres and colonnaded streets, and finish with the Roman city of Jerash and Amman's Citadel and museums. The flights from Istanbul to Cairo, Cairo to Aswan, Luxor to Cairo, and Cairo to Amman are included.
