The pyramids, the Nile and the Red Sea in nine great-value days. This journey takes you from the Pyramids of Giza along the Nile on a 5-star full-board cruise to the temples and tombs of Luxor, then finishes with three nights on the Red Sea coast in Hurghada, with a professional English-speaking Egyptologist guide for the sightseeing. After your arrival in Cairo, you spend a day on the Giza Plateau at the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, followed by a tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum. That evening you board the overnight train south to Aswan. In Aswan you visit Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Aswan High Dam, then check in to your 5-star Nile cruise ship. The ship sails north to Kom Ombo Temple, then to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, before reaching Luxor for the Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple. On your last sightseeing morning, you explore the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon on Luxor's West Bank, then travel by coach to Hurghada. Your final days are yours to enjoy the Red Sea at your own pace, with breakfast included and optional snorkeling, diving, boat trips, desert safaris and water sports available locally. Your trip ends with a transfer to Hurghada International Airport. Optional extras include 5-star hotel upgrades in Cairo and Hurghada with meals included, a sleeper-train or flight upgrade to Aswan, the Abu Simbel temples and a sunrise hot-air balloon flight over Luxor. You can also choose to start your trip in Hurghada instead of Cairo, for an additional cost.
